Case note · Jurist special issue, Important Cases of Reiwa 5 (2023) no.1597 pp.230–231

I wrote a case commentary on the Osaka District Court judgment in Ecorica v. Canon for Jurist’s annual Important Cases volume.

I have been studying technological tying for about two years, since the Elecom v. Brother case. It is a very enjoyable issue and seems to attract a lot of attention from practitioners too (just my impression). It is also the issue I presented at the Japan Competition Law Forum in March.

I have a goal of publishing an article on this theme in the second half of this academic year, but with a family member injured and a house move, I do not know whether I will manage. I will keep plugging away.
